Directory of Publicly Funded Perinatal Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment and Recovery Programs in California

This directory lists publicly funded programs that provide women-specific services for treatment and recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions, along with diverse supportive services for California women and their children. These listings are based on information submitted by each county for state fiscal year 2005/2006 (July 2005 to June 2006).

Treatment Works!

California Treatment Works! is ADP’s online, searchable directory that can help you find information about approximately 2000 treatment and recovery programs in all 58 California counties, including private, public and not-for-profit programs. Some of the agencies listed in Treatment Works! specialize in alcohol recovery or drug abuse treatment. Others provide a broad range of services, which may include various community services or general mental health care. Please call ahead to determine which program best suits your needs.

Resource Center

The ADP Resource Center maintains two toll-free, statewide telephone numbers for California residents needing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and treatment information, publications or library services. The Resource Center provides non-emergency information only and does not operate a crisis line.

SAMHSA Facility Locator

The federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides an online resource for locating drug and alcohol abuse treatment programs. The SAMHSA facility locator lists:

  • Private and public facilities that are licensed, certified, or otherwise approved for inclusion by their State substance abuse agency
  • Treatment facilities administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Indian Health Service and the Department of Defense.
