Prevention

Prevention Services develops and maintains a comprehensive, statewide prevention system that averts and reduces alcohol and other drug-related problems, thereby improving the health, safety, and economic conditions of California residents by:

• Modifying social norms and conditions to counter the adverse consequences resulting from alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) availability, manufacturing, distribution, promotion, sale, and use; and
• Effectively addressing at-risk and underserved populations and their environments.
