Description of Technical Assistance/Training Services or Materials
The project focuses on training on issues of alcohol and other substance abuse in the aging population. This includes prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse/misuse. ASA carries out a wide range of activities, such as formal training sessions and conferences, coalition building, and telephone and on-site TA. ASA utilizes a pool of consultants representing both nationally known experts and California-based professionals with expertise in diagnosis, treatment, program development, public and family education, rural populations, family dynamics, and related topics. ASA maintains a project website, that can be used to access training opportunities, resource information and ask the expert inquiries on issues of substance abuse and older adults.
